Is your home business truly a home based business?
August 6, 2008

What does it really mean to have a home business? Is it something that causes you to never leave your home? In many cases this seems to be what most people want, yet as a human being we do crave and require human interaction.
I know when I started my business, that was exactly what I wanted. I was tired of the one hour commutes to and from work, yet I was able to put that time to good use most of the time by educating myself in marketing techniques.
Today we have so many choices, when it comes to a home business. We can keep it purely internet based or we can get out and enjoy meeting people and making sales calls.
When I look at the large number of very successful women who have use companies like Avon, Mary kay etc... to accomplish both it opens your eyes to the possiblities.
There have been several news stories that talk about people having to give up the suburban lifestyle and moving back into the cities due to the high prices of fuel.
I actually believe the opposite, I feel that even more people then ever before will want to join the ranks of "small business owner" then ever before.
Many families have to work two jobs or more just to make ends meet. Yet with fuel costs and the time it takes to get to that second job, coupled with the higher tax bracket is it really in your best interest to work a second job anymore?
If you can make your home business truly home based, then you will not only be helping the planet by reducing your carbon emissions as well. Today even with the high prices my wife and I spend less then $100.00 a month on gas, what a relief.
Though it is still very imporant to get out and interact with people, I mean who really wants to become a hermit? It also gives you the opportunity to expand your business into new markets.

This article is very interesting and it encourages people who are interested in doing home bussiness. The idea of reducing carbon emissions, saving fuel expenses and doing two jobs is really good. Internet will always be there to get updated on marketing techniques.
