The Principles of Beautiful Web Design by Jason Beaird is one of the few books that sits on my desk at arms reach. I find myself often referring to it looking for in site into the questions that often come up when designing a site.
Most people simply buy a theme for a static site or blog, yet there does come a time that you'll want to make changes to it.
